EFFORTS

Solis officially launched in 2022. Here are some of our initiatives.

We reached 7 schools and organizations with our free mental health lesson slides.

We published an article on an international media platform (TelevisaUnivision)

Invited 3 times by schools and organizations to speak. Advocated for youth mental health to city and school officials.

Hosted "first event that has mainly youth led organizations in participation", as well as participated in  MHSA Community Conversations.

OUR MISSION

Solis is a charity non-profit organization promoting awareness on the issue of adolescent mental health.

ISSUES

SOCIAL
MEDIA

Social Media is destroying a generation. Studies have shown that heavy social media usage for teens is correlated with anxiety and depression, and glamourizes and promote self-harm and suicide.

Poor parenting is shown to be directly associated with the mental well-being of adolescents. Negligence, abuse, poor relationship, and lack of attention to mental health from parents leads to youth depression.

PARENTS/
FAMILY

LACK OF
RESOURCES

There is a shortage to mental health services available in the US. With the high rate of mental health disorders among adolescents, only about 1/5 has access to specialized mental health care.

FREE LESSON SLIDES

To share our mission with secondary schools, we will provide a free presentation for districts/schools on educating adolescence about mental health, focusing on causes and statistics and providing resources to get help if needed.
